Decebal Badila

Decebal Badila, a professional bassist born in Romania and based in Germany, has had a prolific performance and recording career. He has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Michael Brecker, John McLaughlin, Randy Brecker, and Chick Corea. Badila is also a talented solo artist, having released his debut album “Nothing But Bass” in 1997, which featured instrumental tracks like “Holiday Fever,” “Sad Song,” “Green Fields, Blue Sky, Red Car,” and “After the Rain.” In 2017, he released another album, “Transylvanian Jazz.”

In addition to his successful career as a performer, Badila is highly regarded as an educator and has taught at institutions like the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Cologne, Germany. Badila has appeared on several artists’ albums, including the SWR Big Band and the group Backstreet, where he showcased his exceptional soloing skills.

Badila has performed at numerous concerts and festivals, as well as on television appearances, showcasing his impressive musicianship. He has also received recognition for his outstanding teaching abilities, shaping the next generation of bassists.
