Rupi Schwarzburger

Wolf-Ruprecht Schwarzburger, known as Rupi, is a versatile bass player with a focus on blues, rock, funk, R&B, and jazz. He works in various bands and as a freelance musician in studios, live concerts, and tours. He grew up in a musical family and moved from violin to double bass and later to electric bass.

From the late 1970s onward, his professional career developed quickly through work with well known bands, artists, and studio productions. He recorded bass tracks for pop, rock, film, and advertising projects and was involved in notable band projects during the 1980s. Alongside performing, he also worked as a producer, composer, and arranger and played in several major musical theater productions.

Since the 1990s, Rupi has been active in international projects ranging from world music to jazz and classical music. He has released several solo albums, starting with “Die Sonne” and continuing with further releases up to 2022. Since 2022, he has been the bass player for the Paddy Boy Zimmermann Band, recording and performing with them while continuing to work in a wide range of other live and recording projects.
